There is no standardized concussion protocol of WHEN to start treatment. Nor is there a protocol on WHAT specific activities to do and for HOW much, or for HOW long.
This is a commonly shared challenge. Having knowledge is one thing. Putting it into practice is another.
That's why our cutting-edge continuing education courses with treatment processes are combined with tools, live coaching sessions and multi-disciplinary community support to help you bridge the gap between research and clinical practice.
Education should be transformational. Its purpose should be to provide you information AND give you tools that result in the most positive outcomes. Our goals have always been to provide the latest clinical and technological breakthroughs in concussion management and to create a collaborative network across multiple disciplines.
In our efforts to achieve these goals, we understand the need to create a platform that is accessible to all of those involved in concussion care. With this platform, we become part of the concussion solution. It is time to start re-thinking the term concussion and recognize that concussion is not only manageable but treatable.
If you're ready to sign up for this supportive, multi-disciplinary and multi-system plan, here's exactly what to do:
STEP 1: Sign up for the All-Inclusive Concussion Plan, by clicking here

*No single test to diagnose a concussion*
*No prediction of recovery from the severity of head trauma*
*No standard treatment protocol*
*No concussion recovery is the same*
This results in knowledge gaps for implementing cognitive, visual, vestibular and/or cervical exercises. Concussion Health is here to bridge that gap through a variety of continuing education courses with treatment processes.
A successful recovery program begins with an accurate diagnosis. Our education and training emphasizes the importance of the combination of various tests to identify functional impairments and how to transition clinical findings into a customized treatment plan to optimize recovery.

[Free Download] Clinical Decision Flow Chart #3: Connecting the dots between standard clinical tools and more advanced testing
Free Download #3 is now ready! The intent of the download is to connect the dots from standard clinical tools (see download #2) to more advanced testing.
Most people who sustain a concussion will recover quickly and fully if given an accurate and timely diagnosis and are properly managed throughout their recovery process. There are, however, a number of risk factors associated with a prolonged recovery, or post-concussion syndrome (PCS).
Currently, there is no accepted time frame for recovery. In more complex cases, more advanced testing is often needed. Determining which tests are most appropriate can be challenging for health care providers.
This clinical tool mentions a battery of tests that are not all inclusive and only represent a sample for each specialty. All testing is not required and should be deemed appropriate by the specialist. Click the button below to get your free download today!
We hope you found the [Free Download] Clinical Decision Flow Chart #1 to be a helpful clinical tool! In case you missed it, click here.
The Clinical Decision Flow Chart #2 is now ready! The intent of the download is to provide a quick reference tool of risk factors associated with a prolonged recovery post head trauma, identifying clues from the history to create a working diagnosis, and standardized tests for the clinical examination.
There is currently no single test to diagnose a concussion. Thus, concussion evaluation can be a challenge for health care providers. Cognitive testing has long been the cornerstone for sports-related concussion (SRC). However, evaluating the vestibular and ocular motor systems post head trauma is critical due to the high incidence of abnormalities in this population(1).
Hopefully, this tool proves helpful as a clinical guide to connect the dots between the subjective report and objective clinical tests. Click the button below to get your free download today!
The Concussion Health team got to work and put together a simple (but powerful) tool: Clinical Decision Flow Chart and you can have it… for free!
The intent of the flow chart is to create a working diagnosis from the patient’s symptom of dizziness, which is considered a vague term. A more differential diagnosis can be narrowed with a thorough intake, review of medical history and review of systems combined with the physical examination.
Identifying the cause(s) of dizziness can be complex and time consuming. Hopefully, this tool proves helpful as a clinical guide. Click the button below to get your free download today!

Atlas Concussion Testing was founded in order to provide an innovative and new method of managing mild traumatic brain injuries with biomarkers. The centerpiece of Atlas Concussion Testing is the Blood Brain Barrier Permeability Test, also referred to as the Array 20, provided exclusively by Cyrex Labs. As everyone who will be in attendance at the Concussion Health Summit already knows, research in the field of objective biomarkers for diagnosing concussions is quickly becoming a very important tool in concussion management. More important than diagnosing the presence of a concussion is determining when a brain has fully healed from a concussion. With the Array 20 from Cyrex Labs and the implementation protocols established by Atlas Concussion Testing, that is now possible.
The Array 20 is scientifically supported by the research that went into its development. The relationship between the structures of the blood brain barrier and the neuroanatomy and neurophysiology of the brain and related tissues is paramount to understanding the cascade of events following mTBI. Most importantly, immune responses both within the brain and from the body’s immune system outside of the brain are the key to diagnosing and managing concussions with the Array 20. This blood test can objectively confirm the diagnosis of a concussion, but even more importantly, it can tell physicians that the blood brain barrier is healed and it is SAFE for athletes to return to contact sports. There is less risk of Second Impact Syndrome and no more guesswork involved in returning concussed athletes too soon when proper implementation of the Array 20 is at the center of a return to play protocol.
As many of us know, Second Impact Syndrome has been deadly in an unfortunate number of circumstances. This is where Atlas Concussion Testing’s implementation protocols of the Array 20 are so critical. When using definitive biomarkers as a diagnostic tool, it obviously is easier to determine the presence of a concussion. This is something that can be done using a variety of different resources. So what separates Atlas Concussion Testing and the Array 20 from everything else? It is the power to diagnose not the presence, but the absence of a concussion, objectively. What does this mean? This means that you will never have to worry about returning athletes too soon from a concussion. The possibility of the Second Impact Syndrome is virtually eliminated. The ambiguous nature of concussion management can be solved by implementing the tool of definitive and objective biomarkers into the return-to-play concussion protocol. The use of such a powerful tool is why our company’s implementation protocols combined with Cyrex’s Array 20 is such an important and critical piece in the return-to-play process from a concussion.
Clearly, the most important piece of concussion management for us is making sure that every single concussed athlete returns to contact fully healed. In order to get to this point, it is also important to initiate treatment as soon as possible. We have developed what we like to call the C1 Treatment Protocol when it comes to managing concussions. The C1 Protocol is designed to reduce neuroinflammation and heal the blood brain barrier. We target the metabolic pathways that are involved with immunoexcitotoxicity following mTBI’s. Utilizing specific combinations of botanicals, compounds and cofactors in conjunction with an anti-inflammatory diet we have been able to return athletes to play in a fraction of the time that rest alone can accomplish. The C1 Protocol is a trademarked treatment program that also provides nutritional strategies that can affect the metabolic dysfunction that occurs following mTBI/concussion. The C1 Protocol may be incorporated into any current concussion management program, seamlessly. Atlas Concussion Testing does not wish to replace your current testing and treatment program, just enhance it with attention to the metabolic components.
Concussion Health’s agenda to “set the gold standard in collaboration, education and management of concussions" resonated with our company on a personal level and was the #1 reason why we decided to attend the Summit. Our goal as a company is to provide the very best and the very safest possible concussion management protocol to each athletic organization in the country. With the Array 20 at the centerpiece of our concussion management strategy, we feel that we are capable of contributing to the gold standard. We look forward to being a sponsor at the Concussion Health Summit and we hope that you all enjoy Dr. Alden’s presentation during the sponsor spotlight. We cannot wait to meet all of you!
